For my Mediterranean Oceanography class we took a field trip to the Barcelona aquarium, L'Aquarium. The field trip was very informative and we learned important information and facts about Mediterranean Oceanography. The aquarium is located in Port Vell, a harbor in Barcelona, Spain. There are thirty-five aquariums that are home to 11,000 animals, representing 450 species, and an 80-meter underwater tunnel. The Aquarium of Barcelona is part of the Aspro Group. In addition, the Aquarium is a member of the Iberian Association of Zoos and Aquaria (AIZA). The Aquarium is an ideal place to see the Mediterranean sea bed and a great way to spend your free time if you are interested in marine life. The Aquarium also offered other services including: cafeteria, souvenir shop, a photo center, an auditorium, and a children's play area. Below are some pictures from my visit to the Aquarium.
